What it is
Recon is a Chrome extension that lives in your browser and turns Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram into an AI-assisted warm-market CRM. It drafts replies, drafts posts, tracks every conversation per contact, and classifies contacts on three axes (relationship × approach × goal). Crucially: Recon never auto-sends DMs. Every message gets your manual confirmation. The AI does the typing; you do the publishing.

Every conversation logged + classified per contact. When you DM the same prospect three weeks later, Recon knows what you already said. No more re-pitching the same offer or opening a 4th-touch DM with 'hey just checking in.'
Family / close-friend hard-override on pitches
Three-axis classification per contact (relationship × approach × goal). Family + close-friend tags HARD-override every pitch — even if the AI thinks the contact is a "biz_owner," family-tagged contacts get no-pitch tone always. The damage from pitching your aunt isn't worth the upside.
Voice-grounded drafts (not templates)
Drafts are trained on your voice profile + knowledge vault. The "yo Home" / "killing it" / "been building something" patterns that auto-blast tools fall into are explicitly banned in our drafter rules. Output reads like a real founder, not a bot.
Manual-confirm send gate (load-bearing)
Recon NEVER sends DMs or personal-feed posts without your click. Auto-publish exists for connected FB Pages + LinkedIn personal feed (after you approve in the swipe queue), but personal-feed FB and DMs always require your manual hit. This is the safety gate that prevents wrong-content damage you can't walk back.

Install Recon in Chrome
Available to every IFD subscriber via the chrome://extensions reload-from-folder method (Web Store listing comes with the standalone launch). Pin the icon to your toolbar.
Visit a Facebook profile or Messenger thread
Recon auto-scrapes context (name, recent posts, prior history). The "💬 Open chat" button takes you straight to the Messenger thread; the FAB at the bottom-right opens the in-page drafter.
Pick relationship + approach + goal
3 sequential pickers in the popup. Family/close-friend disables pitch. Approach picker (none / mlm / biz_owner / partner / playbook) sets the angle. Goal picker (build_close / pure_relationship / sell_close_now) sets the close-pressure dial.
Click Draft, copy the one you like, send manually
You get 3 distinct drafts. Click "Copy & Close" on the one you want. Recon logs the send to per-contact history so the next conversation references it.

Will Recon work after extension updates?+
Each new Chrome version is auto-pushed to existing installs. Each FB DOM change requires a Recon update on our side (selectors break occasionally — about once a quarter on average). We monitor and push fixes within 24-48 hours. Track v0.7 → 0.22.2 in CLAUDE.md's extension version arc.
Can other people see my drafted messages?+
No. Drafts are tied to your IFD user account. Other Recon users see only their own drafts and contact history. We don't aggregate, share, or train on your data.
Does Recon work on LinkedIn / Instagram?+
Yes for both. LinkedIn DMs + posts (full drafter support); Instagram DMs (drafter only — no auto-publish; Meta API restrictions). Facebook gets the most surface area: profile drafter, Messenger drafter, news-feed compose, comment-on-post drafter, FAB everywhere.
How does the standalone launch in Q3 2026 differ from today?+
Today: Recon is bundled with every IFD subscription. Q3 2026 launch: standalone product at $39/mo with 14-day trial, target domain userecon.com or recon.ironfrontdigital.com. Same product; different distribution. IFD subscribers won't lose access.
