Brand Voice Profile

Train the AI on your tone, your phrases, your story — once. Every draft from then on sounds like you, not like AI.

Every IFD planCustomer dashboard

What it is

The voice profile is a customer-supplied configuration that gets threaded into every Claude call across the IFD system — content generator, drafter, audit follow-ups, customer success replies. You provide your business name, target customer description, brand voice guidelines, banned phrases, and link-in-bio target. From then on, AI output reflects your voice instead of generic "AI tool sounds like AI tool" defaults.

Who it's for

Customers who tried other AI marketing tools and bounced because the output sounded fake, brands with strong existing voices that need protecting from generic AI mush, and operators who want to audit-proof their automated content (the voice profile is also a banned-phrase enforcer).

Why it matters

The specific outcomes this capability is designed to produce — and the failure modes it's designed to prevent.

Banned phrases enforced at the prompt level

Tell the system your forbidden words (e.g., "leverage," "synergy," "game-changer," "moving forward"). The drafter prompt blocks them. Generated content that contains them gets rewritten before it reaches you. This isn't a "best effort" — it's enforced.

Approved phrases reinforced

Have specific phrases you always say? ("Built different," "we ship 5x more leads," etc.) The voice profile reinforces them so generated content naturally uses your real lexicon. This is what makes drafts read like YOU.

Threaded into 8+ generation surfaces

Voice profile applies everywhere: social calendar generator, swipe-queue drafts, audit follow-up emails, FB inbox auto-drafts, Recon warm-market replies, AI Operator's Playbook content, MLM Playbook content, sequence engine emails. Set it once; AI honors it everywhere.

Editable anytime

Your voice evolves. Edit at /dashboard/social → Voice tab. Changes take effect on the next generation — no retraining, no model fine-tune, no waiting period.

How it works

From "I want to use this" to "it's running in production for me," in 4 steps.

STEP 01

Open the Voice tab

At /dashboard/social, click Voice. The form has 8 sections: business name, target customer, brand voice description, voice guidelines, link-in-bio target, banned phrases, approved phrases, sample posts.

STEP 02

Fill what you can in 10 minutes

You don't need to fill every field. Business name + target customer + 5 banned phrases + 3 sample posts is enough to ground 80% of the value. Add the rest as you notice generated content drifting.

STEP 03

Test by generating a calendar

After saving the profile, generate a 7-day social calendar. Compare to before — drafts should reference your specific business, your products, your audience's actual concerns.

STEP 04

Iterate when you see drift

When a generated draft sounds off, two things to check: is the banned phrase appearing? (add it to the banned list); is the AI inventing facts? (the knowledge vault is where you add factual grounding).

Questions

What's the difference between the voice profile and the knowledge vault?+

Voice profile = HOW you sound (tone, banned phrases, voice guidelines). Knowledge vault = WHAT you know (FAQ, products, target customer, brand history, sendable assets). Both get threaded into Claude calls; both matter. Voice profile alone fixes "sounds AI" problem; knowledge vault alone fixes "AI is making things up" problem. You want both.

How long should I spend on this?+

10-15 minutes for the minimum viable profile (name, customer, 5 banned phrases, 3 sample posts). Most customers iterate over the first 2 weeks as they notice drift in generated content. After ~30 days the profile is usually rock-solid and rarely needs editing.

Can I copy a voice profile from a competitor?+

You can study competitor copy and extract patterns, but the voice profile only works when it's authentic to YOUR business. AI can mimic anyone, but cookie-cutter voice profiles produce cookie-cutter content — which is exactly what you're trying to avoid.

What if I have multiple brands or sub-brands?+

Today: one voice profile per IFD account. If you run two brands, two accounts. Multi-brand support is on the roadmap (per-customer customer_voice_profiles rows) but not shipped yet — talk to support if this is a blocker.

Is my voice profile data shared with other customers?+

No. Voice profiles are per-user_id row in sm_voice_profiles. Other customers see only their own. We don't aggregate voice data, train external models on it, or share it with third parties. Your data is yours.
